Retail refurbishment and letting for private investor

Acting on behalf of a private investor, Peill & Co have completed a comprehensive refurbishment of a High Street retail unit at 189/191 Dalton Road, Barrow-in-Furness after the property was acquired vacant at auction. Peill & Co’s building consultancy department oversaw refurbishment works to the ground floor shop enabling it to be occupied immediately by a trader after lying vacant for a considerable length of time. As part of the project, the upper floors were stripped out and made ready for a retail stair for future expansion for the occupier. The property was then subsequently let shortly after the refurbishment had been completed, after having been on the market vacant and to let for a number of years, the deal completing within 3 months of the end of the refurbishment works. The shop, which sits immediately adjacent to Marks & Spencer on the pedestrianised section of Dalton Road is now occupied by Bedroom Bliss, an independent retailer with other outlets in the North West of England. Peill & Co acted for the investor throughout with the building consultancy overseeing project works and the agency department letting the refurbished shop.
