Kendal Residential Development Site Sold

Acting on behalf of Cumbria County Council, Peill & Company have successfully agreed the sale of a substantial development site comprising the former Roundhills School on Sedbergh Drive in Kendal. The site, which did not have planning consent for residential use, but had support from South Lakeland District Council for residential development also had restrictive covenants on the title, but offered a rare opportunity for good quality detached dwellings in an excellent residential location. Simon Adams, Managing Director of Peill & Company commented “we were pleased to be able to achieve a successful result on behalf of Cumbria County Council for a surplus site, which was far from straightforward in terms of planning and site restrictions. The site was ultimately sold by Private Treaty to a local developer on an unconditional basis after an extensive marketing campaign.” The site had indicative planning consent for 5 detached dwellings and was being offered for sale in excess of £500,000.
