Acting on behalf of the administrators of Lakeland Leather, the retail chain which went into administration during 2014, Peill & Company have sold the freehold interest in the head office and warehouse in Ambleside to the company which has taken over the retailer, maintaining the warehouse and head office function within the Lake District. Peill & Company acted on behalf of McTear Williams & Wood in Norwich who had been appointed as administrators, and after an extensive marketing campaign, the owners of Lakeland Leather were the successful bidders for the property. Simon Adams, Managing Director of Peill & Company, commented “We were pleased to be able to agree a sale of the property to the new owners of Lakeland Leather, which maintains the head office function and warehouse for the national retail chain within the Lake District. The property at Rothay Holme Industrial Estate was purpose built by Lakeland for their occupation”. The property extends to a total of over 20,000 sq ft of office and warehouse space on a substantial site on the edge of Ambleside village.
