Acting on behalf of various investor clients, we have recently attended a number of auctions locally and nationally, resulting in the successful acquisition of various sites and properties. Peill & Company have acquired 138 Dalton Road, Barrow in Furness (the former Phones 4u shop) as a vacant unit on behalf of a private investor, and it will be made available to let following some refurbishment works shortly – further details will be made available on the website. Acting on behalf of a private client, we have acquired a site in Kendal via the Cumbrian Properties Auction in Carlisle, where we acted on behalf of the purchaser including bidding in the room and exchanging contracts on the evening. Acting jointly with our PAI partners Banks Long & Co in Lincoln, we have also acquired the retail investment at 140 to 142 Dalton, Barrow in Furness, let to Carphone Warehouse, which was acquired after the Allsop & Co, London auction by private treaty, after the property did not sell in the room as the lease renewal had not been completed. We are currently in negotiations over 2 other retail/investment properties to be acquired post auction on behalf of private purchasers.
