Sainsbury's gets Planning Consent for South Lakes superstore

South Lakeland District Council have given consent for a new 50,000 sq ft superstore and petrol filling station in Kendal, Cumbria on the site of the Kendal Rugby Union club. PAI member for Cumbria & the Lake District Peill & Company have advised Kendal RUFC on the development, and on their proposed relocation to a new purpose-built clubhouse on the edge of town to include state of the art facilities for players and members, a new pitch plus training pitches. The new Sainsbury’s has been granted consent after earlier schemes have been refused, and now comprises a 50,000 sq ft store, plus 500 car parking spaces, and proposes 350 new jobs for the town.
