Carlisle - Exchange House - work commences

Contractors are well underway with the re-development of the former BT Exchange on Cecil Street in Carlisle City Centre to create a mixed use development. The 35,000 sq ft building which was previously occupied as a BT Exchange and administrative offices has been partially pre-let to Travelodge. The hotel company will occupy part ground, second, third and fourth floors and create a 63-bedroomed hotel with café facilities on the ground floor. The remainder of the building is available to let as offices and it is proposed that there will be 2 ground floor A2/B1 units with first floor offices. In addition, there is secure basement storage. The offices will have their own dedicated entrance from the northern end of the building, separate from the hotel entrance and will offer excellent quality comfort-cooled modern offices in a city centre location.
