Acting on behalf of a private investor, Peill and Company have recently concluded the letting of a 15,000 sq ft retail warehouse unit at The Maltings, Shaddongate. The unit, which was previously occupied by Durham Pine who went into administration, has been let on the basis of a new 15 year lease to Strategic Retail PLC, the parent company of Fads and Texstyle World. Commenting on the letting, Simon Adams said "when Durham Pine went into administration after being a long standing tenant at The Maltings, we were able to offer our client advice on the letting of the unit they occupied either as a whole or in part. We were able to act alongside Price Waterhouse Cooper, the Administrators in securing a transaction which has resulted in a new retailer coming to the site which will compliment the existing occupiers Crown Berger, Thomson Roddick Medcalfe and Blazes Fire Places and a re-fit of the unit will commence shortly".
The Maltings occupies a prominent location at the junction of Shaddongate with Castle Way and the unit extended to a total area of 9,383sq ft of sales area on the ground floor and 6,034sq ft of sales and ancillary accommodation on the first floor.
