Under EU legislation, all commercial properties being marketed (with very few exceptions) now require a commercial Energy Performance Certificate (EPC). We have relationships with a number of accredited EPC providers and, in particular, utilise the services of Enersess whose website, which provides background information and advice on why an EPC is required, can be accessed here: www.enersess.com
Any commercial property being marketed after 4 January 2009 requires an EPC and if one is not available, the owner (or tenant) is liable to a fine from £500 up to £5,000, depending on a property's rateable value. As letting or sales agents, we are required to have an EPC for each property but have negotiated discounted rates with Enersess to provide commercial EPCs.
